Organised since 1973 under the auspices of the Société Géologique de France, la Réunion des Sciences de la Terre (RST; the French Earth Sciences Conference) is the premier national Geoscience congress. It is organised every second year and brings together 600-800 participants (researchers and students, including 15% from outside France) for a period of five days.
The 25th anniversary meeting will be held at the Caen, at the Centre de Congrès (Congress Centre), on the 24 - 28 October 2016.
The RST meeting will include 12 themes covering every aspect of the Geosciences, from the Earth's deep structure to its' surficial deposits. It will also include the structure of other planetary bodies. In addition, this congress will encourage interaction between researchers from a range of disciplines. It will also provide an opportunity for a large number of doctoral students to offer their first public presentations of their work.
Together the scientific sessions, the RST 2016 will offer an event entitled "Métiers" (Careers) to discuss employment opportunities in the subject, as well as a discussion forum on “Geoscience Teaching”.
